Repeating Cruise Comments:
Justification/Comments: The Knorr is requested for two reasons: (1) use of dynamic positioning to allow high resolution water column sampling close to the seafloor at specific locations. (2) in anticipation of additional groups joining the cruise for related research purposes (several have expressed strong interest). The Knorr is currently scheduled to return to WHOI from work off Greenland in the fall of 2009. In the interest of efficiency, we propose joining the ship in Halifax, Nova Scotia and finishing our cruise in Woods Hole.
