Justification/Comments: |
Seward Johnson or large vessel required as volume of mooring equipment cannot be supported by smaller vessels (i.e. Endeavor/Oceanus class are too small). Also Seward Johnson is capable of doing 50-60 full-ocean-depth CTD casts (i.e. to 6000 m) and it has a climate-controlled van for salinity/Autosal processing.
Latest start date limitation is due to conflict with later cruise for one participant group. |

Requested End Port: |

Port Comments: |
Fort Pierce, home port for the Seward Johnson, is quite close to the working area. If different ship is used, any port near Florida east coast would be acceptable - Miami would be preferred. |

Instrumentation Comments: |
No science party vans planned, however if Seward Johnson is the vessel provided, we would want them to bring their climate-controlled van with Autosals for salinity processing. |
