Repeating Cruise: No Dates To Avoid: We would like May fieldwork, as earlier sprnig conditions are likely to be too rough for the proposed work, but by summer the storms we hope to study will be too infrequent. We are coordinating with a late spring 2018 target proposal for a different (also ONR) project, CALPYSO, submitted by Dr. Amala Mahadevan.
Number of Repeating Cruises: 0 Repeating Interval:
Repeating Cruise Comments: N/A
Justification/Comments: We are looking at storm generated internal waves, which makes spring the ideal choice. The target area is south of the Iceland/Greenland region, in the winter storm track. However, February or earlier is likely to be too rough for the proposed work, hence the March/April suggestion. We are coordinating this request with one for another ONR project, CALPYSO, submitted by Dr. Amala Mahadevan; they have requested May 2018.
