Ship Time Request Overview

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Summary of Field Work: Two Intermediate and one final testing of coherent hydrophone array hardware.

First test : Prototype array testing for confirming hardware and software parameters

Second test : Intermediate hardware and software testing of a subaperture of the full system. We will complete construction of one subaperture containing 64 hydrophones and the auxillary sensors prior to this sea test.

3rd test: Final hardware and software testing with all four subapertures and functionality of the full system. We will complete construction of all four subapertures containing 160 hydrophones in total and all auxillary sensors prior to this sea test.
Summary of Facility Requirements: CTD/XBT and multibeam/echosounder data will be collected. Will require crane to lift the full array system during mob and demob.
