Ship Time Request Overview

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Summary of Field Work: The R/V Endeavor will be used to support the Rhode
Island Teachers at Sea program. The proposed cruise will be similar to
previous Teacher at Sea cruises in past years. Rhode Island teachers (K-12)
are recruited through the Office of Marine Programs (Maryann Scholl).
Teachers are selected on combination of their stated interests, support from
their school administration, and availability. The teachers participate in
the deployment of the equipment, logging of the data and sample analysis.
Summary of Facility Requirements: Basic oceanographic instruments
(CTD-rosette, multi-corer, ADCP, plankton nets) will be deployed in Rhode
Island Sound and at the self break.
