Notes: Discovery of an unexpected bloom on Georges Bank during our 2007 field season (EN435 and EN437) has caused us to revise our sampling plan for 2008. Rather than two 15-day cruises of the entire Gulf of Maine / Georges Bank region, we would like to undertake monthly surveys of Georges Bank starting in late April / early May through August. The shoreside logistics of this plan will require that these cruises be run in and out of WHOI. Optimum dates are: May 1-8, 2008 May 27 – June 3 June 27 – July 3 August 1-7

Notes: we gave 1 June as "optimal" start date, and 8 June as "alternate" start date.) I told Liz that if necessary, we could probably start as much as 2 weeks earlier than optimal (so, about 15 May), or 2 weeks later than optimal (about 15 June). Not overlap with Shaw. Note: Our 2008 coring will take place on the continental margin at roughly 39 N 70 W, more-or-less a couple of hundred miles due south of here. No foreign clearance required. (11/07-JD)
