Ship Time Request Overview

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Project Description and Facility Requirements
Project Web Page:
Summary of Field Work:
Summary of Facility Requirements: Cruises in 2005 (deploy, recover) are off Woods Hole, Cruises in 2006 are off Grenada
Summary of other requirements or comments: We need to avoid having the buoy deployed during hurricane season off Grenada, therefore we have requested a Jan 2006 deployment and June 2006 recovery.

The Webb OBS group will be involved with several cruises each year for the OBSIP. This will complicate scheduling these cruises as personnel will otherwise not be available.

Webb will be teaching Fall semester 2004 and 2006.

We may try to use divers to study the sensor deployments, but haven't made formal plans yet. These will be short dives in water less than 100'.
