Summary of Field Work: |
|
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
we would like the first cruise on a UNOLS vessel (January 2010 timeframe). Ideally, we would have a second of our 4 cruises on a UNOLS vessel, but understand that it depends on the availability of a ship in the area. Our cruise schedule is as follows:
Cruise 1 - Jan 2010 Cruise 2 - May 2010 Cruise 3 - Sept 2010 Cruise 4 - Jan 2011
We have been working with NIWA in NZ to try and accommodate the shiptime beyond what UNOLS can cover. At this point, they have agreed to cover 10 days (including mob time). We hope that will cover 2 of our cruises.
If there are opportunities on a UNOLS vessel, we would be thrilled. At this point we were counting on UNOLS for the first cruise (jan 2010), and crossing our fingers for something else. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
Second cruise would be September 2010; 7 science days |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
We understand the issues of requesting ship operations for New Zealand. We are requesting a ship in hopes that there may be one in the area for use . We will be flexible with our cruise timing to coincide with other projects. |
