Summary of Field Work: |
We will deploy 12 short period OBS's (from the OBSIP) on and around Lo`ihi submarine volcano, Hawai`i. Instruments will be deployed at depths ranging from 1200 m to 4400 m. Each site will be surveyed following deployment, per OBSIP operations. The deployment cruise will take 6.5 days (including one weather day), and the retrieval cruise will take 6 days. Cruises will both begin and end in Honolulu. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
A vessel is required that can support OBSIP operations. The science party will include at least 7 people. |
