Summary of Field Work: |
Cruises deferred to 2010 and 2011 [jmp]
The project will involve two shipboard deployments. One in 2010 in the tropical Pacific and one 2011 in summertime North Atlantic. Measurements to be made largely underway, with brief periods of station work during each cruise. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
UNOLS laboratory van required, to be mounted on main or upper deck. Meteorological gear to be mounted on foremast. Scientific seawater CTD/hydrocast - shallow only (10-20 m) |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
These cruises could be transit cruises with some additional days for near surface profiles. There is flexibility in the cruise tracks. They are designed to transect high PCO2 waters in the tropics (2010), and high productivity, high latitude low CO2 waters (2011). Relative wind directions are a strong consideration, and should be maintained +/- 60 degrees from the bow for most of the time. |
