Summary of Field Work: |
Occupations of Station ALOHA (22.75N, 158W) for 4 days over 10 months each year of the project. Operations include full ocean depth CTD profiling, deploying of surface tethered drifting arrays, 0-200 m net tows, and shipboard deployments of upper ocean optical instruments. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
Vessel capable of berthing up to 28 scientists/students/educators. Deep sea winch, mooring winch, capstan, MET-tower, seawater intake system |

Repeating Cruise?
(within same year) |
Yes |

|
Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
Approximately "monthly" HOT cruises to Station ALOHA (22.75N, 158W). |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
HOT and the Center for Microbial Oceanography: Research and Education cooperatively share shiptime. Thus, we require a vessel capable of berthing upwards of 28 scientists/students/educators |
