Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Project ID: 102293 Version #: 4
Date Submitted: 1/12/2010 4:32:00 PM Created By: Ren-Chieh Lien
Date Last Modified: 6/29/2010 10:52:00 AM URI Serial #: None
Funding Agencies: NSF/OCE/PO - 1029488 - Funded
Summary of Field Work: Deploy three surface moorings at three stations, 0, 2 S, 8 S along 76 E in the central Indian Ocean before the IOP of DYNAMO. Recover three surface moorings deployed earlier and refurbish two RAMA moorings at 0 and 1.5 S 90E.
Summary of Facility Requirements: TSE winch, A-frame, crane, CTD, DPS, underway meteorology and SST, SSS.
Summary of other requirements and comments: The project is a part of a large program DYNAMO, including four cruise legs.
mooring deployment / 15d (Lien) - ship request project title DYNAMO Moorings
Station Leg 1 / 40d (Moum / Fairall) - ship request project title DYNAMO Fluxes
Station Leg 2 / 35d (Moum / Fairall) - ship request project title DYNAMO Fluxes
mooring recovery / 19d (Lien) - ship request project title DYNAMO Moorings
These cruises will be sequential on a single vessel. The middle 2 Station Legs will be identical operations to the same location (0, 80E).
