Summary of Field Work: |
Process cruise aboard the R/V Atlantic Explorer to quantify stocks and rate processes in the Sargasso Sea food web. Work will entail CTD casts, over the stern deployment of in situ primary production arrays and surface tethered sediment traps. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
The R/V Atlantic Explorer will be perfect for this project. BIOS researchers are familiar with the vessel and its capabilities. The 'standard' configuration for the Explorer is all that is required. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
|
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
BIOS faculty are familiar with the R/V Atlantic Explorer and know that it is perfectly suited to the science needs of this proposal. This project proposes 2 cruises, one in February and one in July. The February cruise will be 10 days and the July cruise will be 13 days in length. |
