Summary of Field Work: |
This request covers only mooring deployments and recoveries and MOCNESS sampling on regional vessels. These cruise requests are in addition to our SEEPC REVISED requests for Jason and Sentry submitted 12/12. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We will need a MOCNESS system (with tech) for pelagic sampling. Will also be deploying or recovering moorings. Note that the Brine Pool and Alaminos Canyon moorings will be recovered during our proposed Jason cruises, summer of 2014. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
The timing of these cruises depends on successful recovery of moorings in May 2013 from Trinidad and Tobago. If those moorings are not recovered, we will need to regroup.
Chief Scientists for 2014 and 2015 cruises remain to be determined. |

|
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
We wish to recover two moorings (one at Cape Fear Diapir, one at Blake Ridge Diapir) We also wish to conduct one MOCNESS tow at each site, with stable time post tow for sorting samples (i.e., not transit). |
