Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
R2R takes place over a specific six-day period and is advertised at the beginning of the year. Because of such advance advertising the date of the actual cruise (2014 Jun 26) is unchangeable. If the weather is inclement for offshore transit and operations, an inshore option is conducted. |

Explanation of Science Party Requirements and Technician Requirements |
Science party consists of educators who will conduct water quality monitoring tests on samples collected at various depths throughout the water column at several sites en route to and on site at Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary. An otter trawl, neuston trawl and bottom grab will also be deployed to collect samples. Additionally on site at GRNMS an underwater camera will be deployed to observe reef in real time without the need for diving operations. |
