Summary of Field Work: |
Seasoar surveys of boundary currents around the north, east, and south sides of main islands of Palau. Cross-shore survey lines from ~500 m isobath to 100 km offshore. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We will use STS/SIO SeaSoar, SeaSoar winch, possibly the trawl winch, and all shipboard ADCPs. LADCP (PI provided) and CTD rosette with no bottles may be used as a backup. |

Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |

Malakal Harbor, Caroline Islands, Palau |
Explanation/justification for requested ports and dates of intermediate stops or to list additional port stops |
In the past these cruises have involved intermediate stops at outlying islands within Palau that are often difficult to ascertain in advance. Therefore having both starting and ending ports in Palau greatly simplifies clearances for intermediate stops. |
