Summary of Field Work: |
Our primary cruise will transit the ETNP off western Mexico and Central America deploying floats and carrying out CTD casts. Ship time on cruises of opportunity before and after our main cruise will be needed to deploy a test float and retrieve some of the deployed floats respectively. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
An ocean to global class research ship with CTD/Rosette, ADCP, crane, underway seawater system capability, MOCNESS, and lab van |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
The main deployment cruise should be in summer 2020 |

Foreign Clearance Required? |
Yes |
Coastal States:
Mexico |
Important Info on Foreign Research Clearances
|
|
Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |
Questions about ITAR/EAR regulations?
|
Comments about foreign clearance requirements or description of any other special permitting requirements (e.g., MMPA, ESA, IHA, Marine Sanctuaries, etc.) |
May need to deploy floats in Mexican EEZ. Have already arranged for Mexican collaborators to participate in cruise. |

San Diego, CA, USA |
Explanation/justification for requested ports and dates of intermediate stops or to list additional port stops |
Preferred start port is San Diego in order to load equipment in a US port within driving distance of Seattle. End port the same for COVID-19 safety |
