Summary of Field Work: |
Take the R/V Sproul to Scripps' Canyon to collect physical, chemical biological measurements to evaluate ecosystem health. Goal would be to make a routine visit to these sites to see how site is changing over time, comparing the biology and ecosystem properties inside and outside the Scripps' Canyon. |

Summary of Facility Requirements: |
Equipment needed is: CTD with florometer, transmesometor, oxygen sensor, nitrate sensor, PAR sensor.
We will need three nets: phytoplankton, zooplankton and fishing net.
We will also need dissecting and compounding microscopes. |

Mark Merrifield is the principal investigator on this cruise and any technical questions about equipment or fieldwork goals should be directed to him (mmerrifield@ucsd.edu, 858-246-2716). Mark is looking for help deploying the nets and setting up all the sensors, is this something ship staff can help with? |
