Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning ( Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

  Andreanof Experiment  -  2020  -  Marcus Langseth
  Project Information
Project Title: Collaborative Research: A seismic study of oceanic-arc crustal construction processes at the archetypal Andreanof segment of the Aleutian arc Project Status: Submitted
Principal Investigator: Daniel Lizarralde, WHOI Project Institution: WHOI
Project ID: 106526 Version #: 1
Date Submitted: 6/26/2019 5:35:00 PM Created By: Daniel Lizarralde
Date Last Modified: 3/27/2020 9:13:00 PM URI Serial #: None
Funding Agencies: NSF/OCE/MGG - 2011112 - Funded
Summary of Field Work: An active-source seismic experiment in the Aleutians to acquire MCS and OBS data along and across the Andreanof segment of the arc. One ship (Langseth) will shoot and acquire MCS data and also deploy and recover 37 OBS instruments for a total of 97 OBS drops.
Summary of Facility Requirements: Multi-channel seismic ship with 15-km streamer and large-volume airgun array; 37 SP OBS instruments.
