Summary of Field Work: |
The concept for the proposed Expeditionary Sensing program is to test new in situ sensor technologies for mitigating critical littoral sensing gaps, whereby sensing modalities can be realized through different platforms, clusters, or networks of platforms. Transit offshore California between San Diego and San Clemente Island for Unmanned sensing operations. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
The ship’s meteorological sensors will be complemented by deployment of small meteorological and unmanned aerial systems. Vessel with over-the-side access to sea surface. A-frame, knuckle crane, small boat operations. Unique to R/V Sproul: proximity to the water's edge for deployment and recovery operations of unmanned vehicles. |
