Summary of Field Work: |
Updated on 28 JAN 2020: Cruise 1: April 1, 2021 from Mare Island Dock in SF Harbor to deploy 5 ASIS buoys off Santa Cruz, CA in northern part of Monterey Bay and 3 ASIS buoys off Marina, CA in central part of Monterey Bay..
Cruise 2: June 1, 2021 starting from Mare Island Dry Dock in SF Harbor to relocate/deploy 5 ASIS buoys off Santa Cruz, CA in northern part of Monterey Bay to Marina/Elkhorn Slough CA in central part of MB. Service 3 ASIS buoys at this location.
Cruise 3: August 1, 2021 starting from Mare Island Dry Dock in SF Harbor to service recover 5 ASIS buoys and redeploy off Asilomar, CA in southern part of MB. Service 3 ASIS buoys off Marina/Elkhorn Slough CA in central part of MB.
Cruise 4: October 1, 2021 recover all 8 ASIS buoys off Marina/Elkhorn Slough CA, in central part of MB and Asilomar, CA in southern part of MB. Return to Mare Island Dry Dock in SF Harbor. Multiple transects between buoy location and SF port location will be needed. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
Sally Ride will be able to deploy at least 2 possibly 3 ASIS in one sub-cruise and faster in transiting to MB. Also for the recovery 8 ASIS buoys with tether buoys will be inside Monterey Bay. Sally ride better suited to recover 3 buoys per sub-cruise (transect between MB and MIDD in SF harbor).
Stage out SF port like Mare Island Dry Dock location. |
