Summary of Field Work: |
Workboat needed for clean surface water sampling. Atmospheric sampling tower will be used on bow. Shipboard clean pump system will be used to collect large volumes of uncontaminated seawater. The 1-day cruises (Sept-Oct) will be combined with scheduled BATS-validation Bermuda-Puerto Rico cruise (1 day in 2006 has been approved by Linda, per Simone Metz, NSF-CO). The 2-day cruises will be added to scheduled "long" BATS cruises. The 10-day processes cruises will ideally be sheduled the week immediately after (or immediately before) a BATS cruise. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
This program is funded, and has been approved by Linda Goad (per Simone Metz, NSF-CO) for inclusion at the levels described below for 2006-2008. The 1-day cruises (Sept-Oct 2006, 2007, 2008) will be combined with scheduled BATS-validation Bermuda-Puerto Rico cruises. The 2-day cruises (April-May and Sept-Oct, in 2007 and 2008) will be added on to scheduled "long" BATS cruises. The 10-day processes cruises (June-July, in 2007 and 2008) will ideally be scheduled the week immediately after (or immediately before) a BATS cruise. |
