Summary of Field Work: |
stern or beam crane to lift 225 lbs over the side and a work bost MAY be needed |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
This cruise will be an engineering test of 2 deployable buoy systems that use lithium batteries. The lithium batteries have been tested by NUWC to meet USN and DOT requirements. These batteries are sealed prior to shipping and will not be open on the RV. We will provide all safety equipment required by NUWC, USN and DOT. MSD sheets for the lithium batteries will be provided. The handlers of the equipment containing lithium batteries have undergone lithium batter training in preparation for this cruise. We will need to coordinate with ship’s company to have a material disposal contractor identified in port as a contingence. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
I am a contractor for ONR and am not able to commit ONR funds. I am submitting this required without ONR review because of the short time between now and when the ship is need and I will be at-sea tomorrow and not able to communicate for a week. |
