Summary of Field Work: |
Cruise will install and test the ALOHA Cabled Observatory infrastructure and experiments at Station ALOHA. Ops. involve lowering observatory hardware to ocean floor (5km depth) in installing at node in HAW-4 optical cable using ROV. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
JASON II operations, loading and storage of JASON gear and experiment and observatory hardware. Will utilize all of staging bay and some deck space (assuming Thompson), and approx 500 sq feet of open deck space for ancillary hardware in addition to JASON. |
