Repeating Cruise?
(within same year) |
Yes |
Interval: |
6 months |
# of Cruises: |

|
Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
There will be two cruises each year (2009 & 2010) separated by ~6 months for mooring operations, CTD and ADCP surveys near mooring stations at Phillippine Sea. The decision of 6-month separation is to recover measurements and to replace batteries of sensors on the moorings. There is a separate cruise request for each cruise. |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Any global ship will do it. Melville has been the area before and will be ideal. The dates were chosen to be before and after typhoon seasons. The number of science day is 21 days each cruise, a total of 42 science days each year. |
