Summary of Field Work: |
Use towed vehicle to measure chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) throughout the Hudson River and Estuary, out to the plume. Compare this 3 dimensional data with model predictions. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We require a ship that can hold a 17,000 lb, 20 foot lab van. We require an A-frame to deploy undulating vehicle. We would prefer the RV Cape Hatteras as is also has a surface mapping "pole" that can hold instruments at about 2 meter depth on the starboard side. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
10-12 scientists |

Explanation of Science Party Requirements and Technician Requirements |
We will operate the undulating vehicle. We need hardwire communications to the Bridge. We need a marine technician for an occasional CTD. |

|
Explain Instrumentation or Capability requirements that could affect choice of ship in scheduling. |
We are pretty much self-sufficient with our lab van and undulating vehicle. We need a CTD and a surface mapper pole off the starboard side. We need to place our 20 foot lab van to the fantail.
