        | Summary of Field Work: | Conduct acoustic and net surveys over and near Georges Bank. Advanced broadband acoustic systems will be used to classify swimbladder-bearing fish through their resonance. The studies will involve transects and measurements at fixed locations. |
        | Summary of Facility Requirements: | We need an Oceanus-size RV for this research. In fact, we specifically request the RV Oceanus since its A-frame is off-center, allowing us to deploy the receive array off the starboard quarter. Also, the two cruises must coincide with the dates of Leg#1 of the NOAA fisheries studies in each of those years. These dates are given elsewhere in this form. |
