Summary of Field Work: |
Marine geophysics for the purpose of determining geologic framework, landslide hazards, sediment thickness, and crustal nature in support of delimiting the US extended continental shelf under provisions contained in Article 76 of the Convention on the Law of the Sea and better understanding offshore landslide hazards. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
2D multichannel seismic reflection with long offset streamer (8 km);, 25-meter groups; 60-liter (approx.) multi-element airgun array; sonobuoy refraction; OBS refraction; marine gravity; marine magnetics; 3.5 kHz sub-bottom; 12 kHz bathymetry; DGPS navigation |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
multibeam bathymetry, CHIRP subbottom profiling, gravity, and magnetics. |
