Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
|
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
This is a follow-on cruise to a 26 day cruise aboard the R/V PELICAN (27 June - 22 July 2010) during which we were not able to complete all of our scheduled Tall mooring rotations due to the presence of Hurrricane Alex in the western Gulf of Mexico and the adverse impact it had on weather and seas in the work area in the Loop Current region of the eastern Gulf. Our gear is still on site at LUMCON waiting for an appropriate vessel use window. We have been advised that 8 November 2010 is the first available date for a seven day cruise effort. |
