Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

  Project Information
Project Title: Collaborative Research: Post-seismic response updip of the Chilean megathrust earthquake of February 27, 2010 Project Status: Submitted
Principal Investigator: Anne M. Trehu, OSU_COAS Project Institution: OSU_COAS
Project ID: 102852 Version #: 2
Date Submitted: 2/12/2011 11:32:00 AM Created By: Anne M. Trehu
Date Last Modified: 6/21/2011 9:03:00 AM URI Serial #: None
Funding Agencies: NSF/OCE/MGG - 1130013 - Funded
Summary of Field Work: Deployment of 10 broadband OBSs equiped with seafloor flow meters on the accretionary complex offshore central Chile in water depths of 2000-5300 m.

Acquisition of high-resolution seismic reflection data using a short multichannel streamer and GI guns. (first cruise only)

Swath bathymetry, magnetics, gravity

Gravity cores (second cruise only)
Summary of Facility Requirements: Need adequate deck space and cranes to handle OBSs on deck. Need air compressor in yr 1 for seismic reflection.
