Summary of Field Work: |
To collect water column samples in the continental margin off the coast of New England to measure methane concentration, oxidation rates, air-sea flux, and natural isotopes. These samples will also be used in incubation experiments. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
1) CTD-Rosette with large (20L) Niskin bottles that is trace metal clean 2) Multi- or box-corer 3) Radioisotope lab van |

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
This ship is the appropriate size for the scientific operations to be conducted. It is also adjacent to the sampling locations. The proposed dates correspond to the end of the academic semester for the chief scientist and other leading scientific personnel and are before other summer field research obligations. |
