Summary of Field Work: |
The program will consist of HabCam system deployments, standardized scallop dredge hauls and water column sampling through the use of a CTD and Nisken water sampling bottle equipped rosette. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
This survey has been successfully conducted using Hugh R. Sharp since 2008. Standardized resource survey calibration requirements dictate the continued use of the Sharp for this research. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
Fiber optic winch and cable to support the continued use of the HabCam system. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
The annual sea scallop survey is conducted to monitor trends in resource abundance with directly relates to resource management. |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
A standardized resource survey for sea scallops is conducted annually. The Sharp has been used annually since 2008. The cruise dates are selected to meet temporal requirements related to sea scallop biology and to meet assessment needs for managing that resource. |
