Summary of Field Work: |
The program will consist of HabCam system deployments, standardized 2 m beam trawl hauls, and water column sampling through the use of a CTD and Niskin water sampling bottle equipped rosette. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
A similar survey (Annual NEFSC Scallop Survey) has been successfully conducted using Hugh R. Sharp since 2008. Use of Hugh R. Sharp is desirable because of its known ability to accommodate HabCam and the proximity of its home port to the operating area. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
Fiber optic winch and cable to support the continued use of the HabCam system. |

HabCam is essential for obtaining photographic record of habitats and organisms is the primary data to be collected for analysis with regard to habitat character and value. This vehicle has been used aboard Hugh R. Sharp in previous years for similar purposes on sea scallop grounds on the shelf adjacent to the ops area for this project.
