STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. Summary of Field Work: Drifter deployments at the Mouth of the Columbia River to groundtruth monthly survey flights (airborne remote sensing). A UNOLS vessel is requested to recover the drifters offshore, once they have cleared the bar area and are in deep water.

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations:
Oceanus is suggested simply because of location. A week is requested to provide a weather window for the airborne surveys (to be coordinated with drifter deployments from the ship). Targeting 3-4 daily drift sets (deploy in the morning, recover in the afternoon).

Mob is simple (a few wire baskets), and can be done in a couple hours on same day as transit.
