Summary of Field Work: |
Using CTD rosette system configured with pressure-retaining water samplers ~ 2,000m water samples will be collected with and without decompression.
Two or three drops are planned. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
CTD rosette system configured with pressure-retaining water samplers to be used to collect seawater from ~ 2,000m depth. The science party will bring a chilled water bath and subsamplers to be set up in interior lab space. A small amount of space is needed for pipetting samples and adding chemicals to the microbes in the seawater. A small filtration station may be needed to be set up by the science party. |

Explanation of Science Party Requirements and Technician Requirements |
We just need to collect seawater using CTD rosette modified to accept our two pressure-retaining water samplers. Two- three sets of drops are needed to collect water from ~ 2,000 m (as deep as possible in this general location). |
