Summary of Field Work: |
In one 7-day cruise, use towed and dropped profilers to measure physical properties and turbulence of nonlinear internal waves off the Washington coast. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We require an intermediate class vessel with a transducer well for our acoustic echo sounder and a 300/150 KHz ADCP. We need an A-frame and deck space for our two winches. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Oceanus is natural as it is the closest and smallest ship capable of doing the work. Second choice is the New Horizon (Thompson schedule is full). We wish to avoid sailing later than Sept 10 due to weather and the potential absence of the waves we're studying. |
