Summary of Field Work: |
Work will consist of repeated CTD casts to limited (likely 4 ) depths, 200 to 4000m, to bring aboard largest possible volumes of water from each depth, for isolation of dissolved organic materials via ultra-filtration. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
we will need a CTD/ Rosette- ideally with 30 liter bottles for maximum water volume recovery per cast. Also sufficient Deck space for 3-5 200 liter drums, and assorted carboys for storing water between cast/ transporting to interior lab space for filtration. Will also need use of a web lab space. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
radiocarbon-clean wet lab space to perform ultrafiltration / DOM isolation. Samples are for natural-abundance radiocarbonk |
