Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to https://mfp.us and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact mfp@unols.org for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

  Project Information
Project Title: Integrated Benthic and Sea Scallop Resource Assessment Survey Project Status: Submitted
Principal Investigator: Nathan Keith, NOAA_NEFSC Project Institution: NOAA_NEFSC
Project ID: 104499 Version #: 3
Date Submitted: 8/21/2014 8:39:00 AM Created By: Nathan Keith

Funding Agencies: NOAA/NMFS - NONE - Funded
Summary of Field Work: This cruise surveys the pre-recruit and fully recruited segments of the Atlantic sea scallop resources from Virginia through Georges Bank, generating fishery independent estimates of biomass and size composition. These estimates are used to conduct a quantitative stock assessment for this species. We estimate 450 scallop dredge hauls, 150 CTD profiles, and towed HabCam.
Summary of Facility Requirements: The R/V Hugh R. Sharp is requested for continued support of the NEFSC's annual Integrated Benthic and Sea Scallop Resource Assessment Survey.
