Summary of Field Work: |
This is an add-on to a research cruise on R/V Thompson with ROV Jason that is already funded and scheduled for August 14-25, 2015. This request is to add the Sentry AUV to that cruise. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We request the Sentry AUV be added to the cruise in order to resurvey selected multibeam sonar tracklines to document uplift of the seafloor at Axial Seamount over time and to collect these data at the same time as the previously funded Jason ROV-based pressure measurements at an array of benchmarks on the seafloor. Jason and Sentry operations will be simultaneous and overlapping at times. |
