Summary of Field Work: |
Perform maintenance of Tropical Atmosphere-Ocean (TAO) and Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis (DART) buoys and moorings along the 95W and 110W meridians. Recover buoys and moorings to the deck of the ship and deploy new buoys, moorings, and anchors. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
Summary of Facility Requirements: A vessel with an endurance of 40 days, 7,000 nautical mile endurance. Clear working deck space of 2,500 square feet with a 20,000 SWL A-frame (20 feet wide). Conductivity-Temperature-Depth winch. Capstan or brailing winch with 10,000 pound pull at 33 ft/min and 2,500 pound pull at 130 ft/min with an automatic brake capacity of 14,000 pounds. |
Summary of other requirements and comments: |
A deck supervisor and at least two members of the deck department. At least one survey technician to operate the CTD, ADCP, multibeam, and other ship's data systems. |
