Summary of Field Work: |
This is a request for two 1-day cruises. Each cruise would leave and return to MarFac/San Diego and operate within the San Diego Trough and on the eastern end of the Catalina Basin. The primary objective of the cruises would be the deployment (first cruise) and recovery (second cruise) of two acoustic moorings within the interior waters of the Southern California Bight. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
R/V RG Sproul with A-frame and winch for handling 650 m mooring. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
This is the recovery cruise for deployment that occurred in August with RG Sproul. |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Opportunity to test Sally Ride's mooring recovery abilities. One day should be sufficient to transit to areas of interest and recover the moorings. |
