The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning (mfp.us). Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. Summary of Field Work: Characterization of benthic boundary layer dynamics and biogeochemical fluxes at 30 and 80 m on the Oregon shelf using in situ eddy covariance (EC) methods and core incubations.
2017: Four 2-day Summer Bloom Variability cruises to allow one each EC lander deployments of ~24 h at 30 and 80 m locations adjacent to the Newport Hydrographic line, and to allow accompanying CTD cast and coring operations. These cruises will be timed 3-4 weeks apart throughout the summer upwelling season.
2017-2018: Three 4-day Winter Variability cruises –lengthened to factor in likely weather issues - to allow EC lander deployments of ~24 h at 30 and 80 m locations on the NH line, with accompanying CTD cast and coring operations. These cruises will be timed 6-7 weeks apart throughout the winter downwelling season.
2018-2019: Four 5-day Seasonal Variability cruises timed 3 months apart to allow two each EC lander deployments of ~24 h at 30 and 80 m locations on the NH line, with accompanying CTD cast and coring operations.
Summary of Facility Requirements: Regional or Intermediate Class Research Vessel with CTD/rosette, coring winch, crane and crutch, stern A-frame. Deck space for two lander systems that will be deployed and recovered in the style of a mooring.
Summary of other requirements and comments: Wet lab for water sample filtering and refrigerator large enough to incubate sediment cores.

MOB and DEMOB should be possible in about 0.5 days each if we use Oceanus because we know this ship and crew and they are familiar with our requirements.
