Summary of Field Work: |
Collect multi-cores, gravity cores and processing sediment samples. Collecting water samples |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We will need a cold room/cold van for processing sediment samples, we are requesting the Oregon State University coring group and will need multi-coring and gravity coring capabilities. we will also need water sampling capabilities. |

|
Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |

Requested End Port |
Mazatlan, Mexico |

San Diego, CA, USA |
Explanation/justification for requested ports and dates of intermediate stops or to list additional port stops |
Mazatlan and San Diego are convenient ports close to the southern and northern most stations we plan to occupy. Chosing these ports would minimize transit time. Alternatively we could use San Diego as start and end port, but this would require additional transit time. |

Explain Instrumentation or Capability requirements that could affect choice of ship in scheduling. |
Our main operation will be coring (mostly multi-coring and possibly some gravity coring). In addition we plan to take water samples with a standar rosette and possibly deploy an in-situ pump.
