Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning ( Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Project Title: Phase 2 of Enhancements to the OOI Cabled Array at Axial Seamount Project Status: Submitted
Principal Investigator: William W. Chadwick, OSU_HMSC Project Institution: OSU_HMSC
Project ID: 106339 Version #: 2
Date Submitted: 2/15/2019 5:49:00 PM Created By: William W. Chadwick

Funding Agencies: NSF/OCE/MGG - 1928282 - Funded
Summary of Field Work: This grant proposal aims to add three seafloor CTD instruments to the OOI Cabled Array at Axial Seamount and keep them deployed for the next 5+ years between 2019-2024. One ship day with the Jason ROV is requested to be added to the annual OOI Cabled Array Operations & Maintenance cruises during each of 6 years (starting in summer 2019 and including summer of 2024, when the instruments will be recovered). The one day of ship & ROV time will cover the time necessary to turn-around the seafloor CTDs during the OOI O&M cruises each summer.
Summary of Facility Requirements: ROV Jason
Summary of other requirements and comments: William Chadwick is the Lead PI from Oregon State University. Deb Kelley is the lead PI on the Subaward from University of Washington and would oversee the fieldwork.
