Summary of Field Work: |
Conduct multibeam sonar surveys, to include CTD casts and sediment grab sampling. This is a training cruise for 12 BEAMS Program students, so we will conduct a patch test on the first day, then continue offshore if weather/seas allow. Sites have yet to be chosen, but will be within 30 n.mi. of the shore. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
CTD, pole mount for multibeam, dry lab for computers, A-frame and winch for grab sampling. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
We have successfully used the Savannah for this training cruise three times previously. The ship already has a pole mount for the multibeam system we use. All facilities and berths are exactly what we need, and the ship is close to our institution, so students can easily travel to/from Skidaway. |
