Summary of Field Work: |
In year 1, deploy seafloor geodetic transponders and benchmarks for the sea surface using dynamically position ship at two sites along the Cascadia subduction zone. In year 3, recover the transponders from the two seafllor sites. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
In year 1, require a dynamically-positioned ship with a crane. In year 3, require a ship with a crane. |

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Need a ship with dynamic positioning and a crane. Dates are the nominal best conditions in the Cascadia region. Need about 1 and 1/2 days at two different sites, need about 1 day to transit between all sites, port. Need 1 day to mobilize and only 1/2 day to demob. |

Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |
Questions about ITAR/EAR regulations?
|
Comments about foreign clearance requirements or description of any other special permitting requirements (e.g., MMPA, ESA, IHA, Marine Sanctuaries, etc.) |
No ITAR or EAR gear involved. Operating in US waters. |
