Summary of Field Work: |
In year 1, deploy seafloor geodetic transponders and benchmarks for the sea surface using dynamically position ship at two sites along the Cascadia subduction zone. In year 3, recover the transponders from the two seafllor sites. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
In year 1, require a dynamically-positioned ship with a crane. In year 3, require a ship with a crane. |

Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Need a ship with a crane. Dates are the nominal best conditions in the Cascadia region. Need about 1 days at two different sites. Need 1 day to mobilize and only 1 day to demob. |

Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
No |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |

Requested Start Port |
Intermediate Port(s) |
Requested End Port |
Seattle, WA, USA |
None, |
Newport, OR, USA |
Explanation/justification for requested ports and dates of intermediate stops or to list additional port stops |
Newport is closest port to working sites. Reduces transit times. Seattle as starting port eliminates a deadhead leg. |
