Ship Request

STR Management has moved to MFP

The US Academic Research Fleet is moving to Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) for scheduling initially and eventually cruise planning.

For all NEW or RESUBMITTED Projects/Ship Time Requests, go to and create a new SME. Some STRs for projects starting in 2022 and beyond have already been moved to Marine Facilities Planning ( Check your MFP Science Portal for any projects that might already be moved. If you need to make edits to projects that begin in 2022 and beyond, please contact for assistance. Be sure to indicate the Project and STR IDs that you would like to edit. For more information on getting into MFP, see the More Information button below.

Repeating Cruise?
(within same year)
Yes Interval: 2 months # of Cruises: 2

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: Second cruise should be week of May 11. These are engineering tests for using the U. Delaware Scanfish in preparation for the Pilot test in New England in September 2020.
Need two separate cruises of two days duration for each engineering test.
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations:
Two month gap is necessary to correct any engineering problems encountered using the Scanfish during the March cruise.
