Summary of Field Work: |
Deploy and recover one or two large acoustic receivers. Two deployments, one in deep water, one in shallow water. The receiver(s) will be drifting in deep water, and moored in shallow water. While receivers are deployed, deploy low-signal-level autonomous sources, and tow low-signal-level source. Recover after 4 days. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
A-frame, crane, CTD, Winch. Sufficient deck space for mooring deployments/recoveries. Wire rope on winch for towing source. |

Description of Repeating cruise requirements: |
No repeating cruise. |
Justification/Explanation for ship choice, dates,
conflicts, number of days & multi-ship operations: |
Ship choice is based on proximity to desired location of research as well as cost. Dates are based on availability of science personnel as well as the statistically calmer seas in July - necessary for equipment deployment and recovery. Number of days is based on the scientific requirement to have 2 separate equipment deployments and recoveries (on-shelf and off-shelf) |

|
|
Are you or any member in your science party bringing in any science equipment items which are regulated for export by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)?
|
Yes |
If yes, have you applied for the necessary permits through your export control office?
|
No |
Questions about ITAR/EAR regulations?
|
Comments about foreign clearance requirements or description of any other special permitting requirements (e.g., MMPA, ESA, IHA, Marine Sanctuaries, etc.) |
EMATTs are ITAR controlled. This has been done before, and we will have proper paperwork in place by June 2021 |
