Summary of Field Work: |
The Oregon State University Marine Sediment Sampling (MARSSAM) Facility aims to perform sea-trials w/re development of new capacities (instrumenting core barrels, new trigger arm design). We also seek to empirically evaluate the effectiveness of teflon-coated core barrels for improving corer penetration and reducing pull-out friction. |
Summary of Facility Requirements: |
We will need the Oceanus crane crutch, the block for the 9/16" core wire, and an App A exemption to pull to 21,000 lbs. Ideally, we would like the capability to run 24 hour operations, including simultaneous crane and winch operations if that staffing is possible. |

MARSSAM will work with OSU ship operations to develop deck layouts etc. |
